Xain Jaya

2020 - 2026

Xainjaya ended because eventually the project became more interesting to everyone watching it than it was to the person making it.

The internet has turned music into an endless stream of people making, releasing, promoting and judging things at the same time. Everyone was watching everyone else. Every song became a number. Every release became an event. Every person slowly became a version of themselves that could be observed by their peers.

He stopped wanting to play that game.

The money was never really the point. Neither was becoming famous. For a while the attention was exciting, and seeing people care about something made the whole thing feel worthwhile. Eventually, though, the business around it started to feel increasingly artificial.

Music had become something he was expected to constantly perform, even when he wasn't making music. Xainjaya had become an identity that other people could form opinions about, discuss, compare and watch. At some point there was a difference between making art and being watched making art.

He chose the person over the project.

He was twelve when he first stood in front of an amplifier that was probably much too big for the room, singing in a band held together by borrowed equipment and whatever time there was after school.

For a while, that was music. A guitar, a changing voice, and a growing curiosity about everything happening behind the sound. Eventually he became less interested in standing on a stage and more interested in understanding how the entire thing worked.

The guitar slowly became a computer. The stage became a bedroom. Recording, production, writing, sound design and experimentation became things he could do alone. Music stopped being something he needed permission to participate in.

Xainjaya began properly in 2020. He was streaming on Twitch, making music in public during a strange year when the internet became the closest thing many people had to a physical place. There was no finished product to hide behind. People could watch the songs being built, broken and rebuilt in real time.

Around then he discovered Shamana and a small group of musicians connected to the internet music scene that had existed before him. They introduced him to a different way of thinking about being an artist. Music could be a world. A community. A process. Something you could build yourself instead of waiting for someone else to open the door.

Edmonton

Eventually Xainjaya left the bedroom and became a live thing. Edmonton became part of the story in a way the internet could never completely replace.

There were concerts, small rooms, venues, promoters, tickets, lineups and all the strange machinery that appears when music becomes a business instead of simply something made by a person. Xainjaya played shows around Edmonton, including nights that sold out and rooms that felt impossibly full for something that had started on a computer at home.

From the outside, it looked like the beginning of a career. There was an audience. There were people buying tickets. There were venues willing to put the name on a poster. There was money changing hands.

From the inside, the business side often felt much less real. There was a strange amount of performance surrounding the performance itself. People talked about numbers, opportunities, momentum and careers as though everyone had agreed to pretend they knew where any of it was going.

He never cared very much about the money. The part that mattered was being there, making something happen and seeing another person experience it in the same physical room.

Eventually even that became complicated by everything around it. The more visible the project became, the more it could be interpreted by people who only knew the public version of it.

i am a robot

i am a robot was the first release under "Xain Jaya" on December 11th 2020. It was rough, electronic, youthful and immediate. He didn't start doing music with vocals, he started out as an intrumentalist. It carried the fingerprints of someone still learning the tools while already trying to make something that felt larger than the room it was recorded in. Inspired by the works of European Music Producers he captured the distant feeling of Quantized Beats and Nature Sounding Synths. The name "i am a robot" was a working theory around "Xain Jaya"s Life at the time. He was feeling left out of this wide world that never felt like it had any place for someone like him. Feeling hopeless he turned to Music Production as a means to control the world around him. He did a listening party the night of December 11th 2020 on stream to celebrate the moment with friends online and real life. "Xain Jaya" did not understand what seeds he would be planting for the next 6 years of his future. He just let the music speak for itself. Promoting wasn't even in the picture yet. It was just him figuring out what music he found beautiful and compiled it into a 5 track EP. "october 603", "3x ossc", "calls from santo domingo", "8K hdr robot", "underwater circuitry"

We All Sleep

We all sleep "xain jaya"'s debut album released on January 14th, 2022 was where the project started becoming a world of its own. Darker, hazier and more confident, the record leaned into electronic textures, repetition, distortion and a strange sense of distance. It felt nocturnal without trying to be dark for the sake of being dark. The songs sounded like they belonged somewhere online, somewhere between a bedroom, a livestream and a place that didn't really exist.

It was also the point where people outside his immediate circle began finding the project. Xainjaya stopped feeling like a private experiment and started becoming a name. We never will get another album as special as this feels to this day. We All Sleep is one of the most immersive Electronic Albums of the 21st Century.

Pastel Figments

Pastel figments April 20th, 2022. This next project moved in a different direction. Collaborating with "Atlas", through the connections of "Sativa"; "Xain Jaya" had now after the release of "We All Sleep" connected with Artist "Atlas" with the visions in mind to take the production of the last project and work to create a fully crafted Studio Album. "Atlas" curated and collected various tracks sent by "Xain" to paint a brand new picture that this world had never before seen from the two of them. It was softer, stranger and more atmospheric, using nostalgia as material rather than simply looking back at the past. Bright colours sat beside uneasy sounds. Digital spaces, fragmented memories and dreamlike ideas became part of the vocabulary. This was the birth of a brand new sound.

xain

xain arrived in 2022 as fourteen tracks pulling almost everything together. Electronic music, pop, noise, internet culture, melody, distortion, humour, anxiety and personal writing all ended up in the same place.

It was messy on purpose. Restless, excessive and constantly changing, xain sounded like someone opening every door they had found and refusing to choose only one room. It became the clearest snapshot of what Xainjaya had become during those first years.

"Xain Jaya" now established as a legitimate artist started to take things more seriously here and sent out the album to various Twitch Streamers with communities gathering from few to thousands. This spread the message of "Xain" all the way to Germany, Russia, Australia & more. It really felt like "Xain" was shaping up to be generational impact across the board. Overall the album was praised for its original concepts at the time and to this day still holds up. "xain" was the magnum opus that started the seeds to grow a beautiful garden of musical production and aesthetic.

After xain, things went quiet.

He had found himself in a deep hole of Mixing and Mastering. Trying to perfect his craft down to the exact frequencies used by studio professionals. This left his career in a complete standby, releasing singles now and then to keep the diehard fans around but not enough to continue the momentum that all of the sudden started to seem fading by the day. It's hard to get an understanding of this period here so we will write his genuine transcript of this era.

"Things never had been harder emotionally for me, I found myself stuck in this nasty loop of death occuring all around me. Family to friends was all seeming like I was next. I spent 4 years in solitude building back up my trust for this world and everything it had to offer. Work was no longer appealing to me because Art had consummed my life. This feels where things never could have taken a darker turn. I was making songs targetting and calling out my own depression to myself so I would be reminded in the only hobby life felt it had to offer. From here I started to distance from online friends and keep myself as private as possible. Social Media started to take a big turn things were no longer personal online it was now this is your side business and you will have to act like it to make it. The problem is I've never been interested in running my own business. Business left a deep scar in me, I had experimented on my 18th birthday creating a brand called 'Mayhem Twenty'. This brand was exclusive to me and my closest friend at the time. From there we cut ties due to personal reasoning where he was more interested in other peoples lives and exploring the possibilities of life. I myself had been focused mainly on the internet and the possibilities there. To my own demise of course. In my personal opinion looking back at the entirety of the internet, We had a major death in 2016 with YouTube Ads being removed from vids to censor people. This cause the ultimate death of Youtube Original Content as well as the authenticity of the internet died that day. We can also see this true in modern day now more than ever. The algorithm decides what you see before you see it. I've found myself more interested in the actual mechanisms of how all of these things work as the years increase. I don't like interpersonal connections any longer online. During this 4 year period I had lost two major friends to what seemed to be their assumptions on my entire personality based on my business 'Xain Jaya'. From here that really set the nail in the coffin to kill my own career. As much as I know I can be a great musician at times and I was constantly told that for these 4 years. I tried to quit many times. More than once for sure lol. Digital footprints and internet hatred really scared me off the most. I think I remember starting mass media campaigns especially in 2025-26 that really made me super radicalized about the possibilities in this world. I know more than ever anything I do will have a major impact on this earth and 'Xain Jaya' is the perfect example. If I could get someone to even be currently reading this then how do I not know that I am genius in my own ways. I think overall the moral of my story comes down to I have more self respect nowadays. I know where my talents can be used without having to cater to society. Short form content is a plague to this earth. No one likes the concept of it but everyone watches it. It's good when it's like Youtube Shorts and done professionally but when it's like 'Reels Slop' it really starts to get to your head. If it's seeing someone quote on quote 'more successful' or 'worse than your talents' you start to get 'rage baited' into not trusting your own moves anymore. You also start to adapt to the 'hive mind' where you stop thinking for yourself. I think the world is more hurt than ever in more ways than I can even explain right now. Everyone been burnt by the world in the past 6 years. Human conscience is really starting to pick up patterns from training yourself to spot Ai or spot businesses trying to steal money, No one trusts anything online anymore. You can't even trust me saying that this is the end because it could end up being a tactic to get views. I know I'm finished with this name for the rest of history. The only thing that can bring me back is if I end up building the life I imagine in my head everyday and it ends up directing me back to here. This all is terrible mind games at the end of the day just having to contemplate what people will hear or see of you everyday. It's not fun at all actually. I had seen some study that said the highest form of peace is never being seen and it's true more than ever. I decide that peace is more important than me than chasing this life style everyone hypes up but no one actually who has made it enjoys. You think you will enjoy this music industry because of the money but even that in itself is a giant problem. Money means nothing to me other than getting somewhere to protect me. I genuienly found out the hard way on every path in my life. There's nothing appealing to this industry any longer. I force myself to make music more often than not. Evil has forced me out of the one thing that was 'truly' me. But was it truly me or was it exactly what you guys wanted me to do. I don't think I ever ended up asking myself if this music was ever worth it. I always asked everyone who was a fan or friend telling me do not throw away your passions do not do this or that. At some point it becomes such a huge game to tackle is any of it enjoyable anymore. Truthfully no it's not. I think of my great inspirations like 'Aphex Twin' and 'Shamana'. Even thought I know they are the two greatest Electronic Producers of all time no one actually says that in the mainstream. If anything 'Aphex Twin' has normal people listening more than ever in Youtube Shorts but like I haven't heard a single person actually speak about his work seriously for years. It became too mainstream. Ultimately then I can speak about 'Shamana' now. When I was 17 I found his stream and he's the only reason I even had this career. He showed me the right path and how to truthfully make worlds that no one else has heard. I remember going through his twitch clips to find producer methods and watching his twitch streams to figure it out without asking. I was too shy to ask him for help because I knew he was more respected than me. Now I think I've ended up in a similar position of respect and find myself having new artists ask me for advice more than ever. Always it's follow your true heart and make music no one else is. No one wants to hear anything done before. Just like movies, just like reels, just like art, just like life. No one wants the same things. People will always hate or find a way to take you down. People in your life will probably find it cringe if you give them the opportunities to do so. It's just never a fun time socially. You will get used for your power once you get up to the top. The genuine people will always ask how are you, not how is my song sound to you. Ultimately you can tell my frustration of the social aspects of art. More than ever Art is a game to the Average Joe. It's no longer about anything actually important. Shoutout 'Bladee, Ecco2k, Jonatan Leandoer' I could spend my time actually shouting out a bunch of other artists but they held down the game still to this day just as hard as they did day one and I admire it very much. As things sort of get off the rails here in this final statement I'd like to shoutout my Friends and Family for standing by my work as long as they did before the end. Thank you all. I'll see you in another"

Four years passed before Xainjaya returned with Post Modern Poetry.

Post Modern Poetry

Post Modern Poetry came from a different place. The internet had changed. The audience had changed. Music had changed. More people could make almost anything, while finding the people who actually cared became increasingly difficult.

The record became more reflective and deliberately constructed. Electronic production, pop structures, experimental sounds, nostalgia and digital decay sit beside each other without trying to resolve into one clean identity. It is partly a record about making music and partly a record about looking back at the person who used to make it.

In that sense, Post Modern Poetry feels less like another beginning and more like an archive being written while the thing being archived is still disappearing.

The lyrics and themes around this album are deeper than 'Xain' had ever explored. Exposing modern day flaws and the terrible world that we have started to accept as normal. As cynic as it sounds to downplay everything in the world, 'Xain' noticed things no one else had documented previously. He started to expand this journey of discovery of the world Post 'Post Modern Poetry'. After the album he started to study History, Physics, Math and Science.

Ultimately the final note 'Xain' left on was 'We Live In The Renaissance Two'. This was the final single left up by 'Xain Jaya'. Describing his entire lifes findings and habits into one last song. That not only blew away listeners with the drastic voice change but also the deep layer of understanding he had over the current state of the world. This song meant the most out of any previous to him. He realized everyone is becoming their own artist, Artists are now the people driving innovation and creating the new world we will live in. A world without 'Xain Jaya' keeps spinning and creating art.

The person and the art

There is also a difference between Xainjaya and the person who made Xainjaya.

People who knew the name, followed the project or met him online during those years only ever had access to pieces of the person. They saw songs, photographs, streams, shows, posts, usernames, conversations and whatever version of himself existed in public at the time.

From those pieces, people naturally built an idea of who he was. Sometimes that idea was close. Sometimes it wasn't.

Being constantly watched by people around you can turn ordinary life into a strange kind of game. Every action can become evidence for someone else's theory about you. Every change can look intentional. Every silence can mean something. Eventually the person can disappear behind the interpretation.

That is one of the reasons Xainjaya became difficult to separate from everything people thought it represented.

The art can be examined. The songs can be remembered. The project can have a history. But none of those things contain the whole person.

Xainjaya was an artist name, not a complete human being.

The internet

Somewhere along the way, a lot of the people he met online began feeling the same exhaustion with art and music itself.

There was simply too much of everything. Too many songs, too many artists, too many releases, too many platforms, too many people trying to turn themselves into something worth watching.

The internet made it possible for almost anyone to create. Eventually it also made creation feel endless.

What once felt like discovering a small group of people became an ocean where everyone was constantly uploading something new. It became harder to listen without comparing, harder to create without performing, and harder to know whether you actually liked something or had simply learned that you were supposed to care about it.

Xainjaya was part of that world.

It was also one of the things that made leaving it feel necessary.

The End

Xainjaya was never really just a collection of songs. It was a place to experiment with being a person, making things and putting them somewhere other people could find them.

Some people knew the name. Some knew the music without knowing who made it. Some were there for the shows. Some were there for the streams. Some heard one song and never heard another.

Xainjaya existed from 2020 to 2026. It changed a lot, meant different things at different times, and eventually reached the point where the person behind it no longer needed the name to continue existing.

The music can stay where it is.

The person gets to move on.

Thank you to everyone who listened, watched, came to a show, found a song, shared something, stayed around for a while, or simply became interested enough to wonder who was behind the name.

Thank you to the people who were there at the very beginning, and to anyone who was still listening at the very last moment.

You gave the project a reason to exist and I hope to see this project live on in The Internet Archives Forever.
